MISSION NAME: In Need of Protection MISSION RANK: C NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: One other person OBJECTIVE: Hey uh... I'm just an Financial Reporting Analyst okay? We have a big job to do with crunching down on our guild's budget and reaffirming where all our funding is going. I think I'm getting attacked though! Just the other day my tire blew out while I was driving in on the way to work. Luckily I didn't hit anyone and the only major damage was to my car but that can't be a coincidence! Some FELON must be behind this. All the strong mages of my guild are out of missions and I'm afraid to tell the master. Protect me and I'll slip a bit of the extra budget I'm getting to you. MARS CECIL
Right so... Some guy was being paranoid after their car's tire blew up, likely from improper maintenance, and was essentially giving away jewels to protect him for a day? Sounded easy. Dangerous if he was actually being targeted by another guild or something but that was silly. Even then it should not have been a difficult mission to begin with. The silver haired girl had every right to believe that she could handle this mission alone. By herself. As a bodyguard. At thirteen years old.
APPARENTLY that didn't fly with the guy that put up the request, even though she was very capable of doing it. Yet at the same time it was not as if she expected anyone to take her word on the matter and showing off was not particularly her thing. That was her brother's thing. Aside from the point. It seemed like the client thought that their 'attackers' would not attack him when he was with a small 'defenseless' child so did not shoo her away from the mission. Yet at the same time demanded another person take it on at the same time and split the reward. It was pretty lame in Vyserya's eyes and she was sure whoever it was she was working with would not be taking her seriously either. This was for her brother though so she would have to grit some teeth and bear with it.

he didn't understand what the man's problem was. he was paranoid that someone was trying to kill him because his tires happened to blow out. the analyst didn't even appear that important enough for someone to make an attempt on his life. he had asked him why he thought someone was trying to kill him but he was met with a wide eye stare and a shushed whisper telling him to keep his voice down. he hadn't even been talking that loud.
either way he found out much later that someone had already taken up the task and they were going to split the rewards. wonderful. and the other guard just happened to be a kid. mars wondered why all of these parents were losing their kids. this was the third child he had run into within the past week that their parents were nowhere to be found. she probably had a reason as to why she was taking body guarding a grown ass man but he didn't care to hear. all he wanted to do was get this job over with and go home.
“so...what does he want us to do exactly?” mars had made his way over to stand next to the little girl, trying not to stare too much in the chance she could see the disbelief on his face. no seriously, why did he hire a kid? he called himself an adult and yet he was dragging children into his own problems. if there was a chance the man was being attacked, did he even care that he just sent a bunch of teenagers out to fight for him. pathetic. his dwindling respect for the man was slowly shriveling up like his fucks: nonexistent.
mars watched the man from the distance as he stood around talking to someone mars didn't care to hear the name of. “do we have to follow him around all day and make sure he doesn't fall off a cliff to his death?” why was he even here?

The girl noticed how little the new individual had paid to her. It was not as if he avoided eye contact with her altogether but he would not exactly... look at her for long periods either. She figured that he did not take her seriously as a partner for this mission. It was becoming a commonplace to the point that she was starting to get over it and not mind the idea. Nevertheless this strange man did not seem too pleased though at least he was talking to her about the mission at all. Giving a simple shrug to the question, her crimson eyes followed the man as he moved to stand next to her. "The paper only said we had to protect him for the day," she replied as she stared at him from beneath the shadow of her hood. Something about him seemed familiar though she could not put a finger on what that could possibly be. Ironically she had been having that same feeling with several people had been meeting for the past few days. Either it meant that this guy was a dragon slayer, knows Vyse in some way, both, or she was developing paranoia.
Figuring it was best not to question it lest the answer received would reveal itself to be unsavory, the girl reverted to the topic at hand. Now she was fairly tempted to just encase the man in crystal for a day and be done with it. With her skill level however there was no guarantee that it would not kill him and that meant not getting paid. That said when making the second comment the girl smirked at the snark which was not an everyday occurrence. "I think we need to be more worried about him tripping over his own feet into a ditch than himself falling off one." Granted they were not here to make friends but as long as they were stuck together for the day watching a weird guy living his life, could have made it easier on them by at least saying in one spot all day. "Maybe we can find a safety box and put him in there?" People with money usually put valuable things in stuff like that right?

mars always had trouble talking to people, especially children. he talked to everyone the same which usually ended up with him scaring off little children and getting yelled by their parents. its why he just didn't bother dealing with them. but now he didn't have a choice in the matter. he could just ignore her and deal with the man himself but the girl hadn't done anything to receive his annoyance. now the analyst, he had definitely already pissed him off.
he turned and looked down at the girl as she spoke, shuffling his feet and the inquisitive stare she was giving him. did he have something on his face? he was pretty sure he hadn't eaten anything today unless a random piece of whatever decided to fly and land on his face for no particular reason. “i think you're right. the guy probably didn't even check to see if his tires were low before driving. it could be just so sort of accident for all we know.” the girl wasn't too bad from their conversation which would make this conversation a lot more tolerable.
it was then her next suggestion made him snort and look down at her with a small smirk. “think we can find one big enough to stuff him in? he might not be entirely agreeable with our choice.” he was so tempted at this point. maybe he can put him in a flower and keep him underground for a few hours while they did something else. technically they were protecting him if that happened. “anyway, how did you get stuck doing a mission like this?”

Hey. This guy didn't seem too bad. After observing him the girl was beginning to think he was being awkward. There was no way shy was the case considering how he spoke and entered the scene. For now they seemed to be rather agreeable, even going as far as to consider her idea. Maybe he considered it out of pity but at least he didn't throw the idea out of the imaginary window. "I didn't think him agreeing was part of the mission requirements," she replied with a shrug. All she agreed to do was protect him. Didn't mean she was going to go out of her way to make it a cushy day for the guy. “After all we are taking the time out to do this. And it doesn’t have to be a safety box… maybe a locker or a closet will work too.” Clearly she didn’t care much for the guy’s well-being either and wanted the job completed.
A moment later the strange guy asked how it came about that she was ‘stuck’ doing a mission like this. It was not necessarily that she was stuck but that she chose to do the mission to fill time. At first she believed that it would she show was competent too but as time went by that was less and less likely. Thus she shrugged, "it sounded easy and I needed money." Now the fact that Vyserya said it sounded easy did not sound odd to the girl but to an outsider it would have sounded weird. At least questionable. “What about you? From what you said I didn’t think you’d be interested in something like this.”
