[attr="class","staffposttitle"]DEATH AND REVIVAL
[attr="class","staffpost"]Death is a natural part of life. However, throughout the history of the magical world, there have been instances of people being revived from the dead. Recently, small fragments of Primordial Magic, magic directly from the One Magic, have been found within several people. For whatever reason, you have a fragment of Primordial Magic within you. Because of this, you are able to be revived by the One Magic itself should you face an untimely demise.
However, revival comes with a price. It is a process that puts a tremendous amount of physical and mental stress on a person; it involves literally getting pieced together one bit a time -- from the body itself to the mind and psyche. The physical and mental fatigue persists after revival, and it doesn’t fade away until seven days [7] have passed. For these seven days, you will suffer from magical exhaustion; this means that you’ll be treated one rank lower than your actual rank. Repeated deaths will worsen this penalty. For example, if you die twice, you’ll be treated as two ranks lower during your period of magical exhaustion, along with the usual physical and mental stress that accompanies revival. With all of the side-effects that come with revival, it is easy to see how this can eat away at someone’s sanity, especially if they die multiple times …
Death isn’t something that should scare you away from participating in events, missions or combat situations. Death can be used as a device for excellent character development and can even be used to shift and shape a character’s views and personality.
